Blog about the flash fiction entitled JAKE by Jim Bartlett

 

        Jake's story revolves entirely around his pet and his relationship with his human best friend.I like this story because it tells me that we need to love our pets and treat them like family. Even though they can't say some words that we used to do, they make us feel that they love us. At the same time, it makes me sad when Jake's human best friend dies. There are many questions that are constructed in my mind: what will happen to Jake if his number one best friend dies?. And the message of this flash fiction is that, whatever ever happens, we should love our pets like our family because they love us more than we know. They've been there for us through ups and downs. It is a wonderful story, but I didn't expect the plot twist and the sad ending.
